Kenzie's BIG Girl Room..... All the way in the Basement!

Since Andy got engaged in January Kenz has had her eye on the BIG bedroom in the basement. We knew Andy would be moving out and she had her sights on moving downstairs. She wanted to say good-bye to the purple room, with Hannah Montana and Keith Urban on the walls, and create a more adult space. She decided on a red, black and white theme. We found the perfect bedding at Kohl's, Daisy Fuentes sheets and pillows, black and white picture frames, and some cute decor at Hobby Lobby.

On Saturday Al and I decided to get everything hung on the walls. Now we were totally okay with just hammering a nail in the wall and moving on, but Colby and Andy were measuring the wall, finding the center of the wall, you get where this is going right? So, we let them do their thing, then they told us where to hammer the nail, directly in the center of the wall and so on.

Here is the finished project! We still need to print pictures for the frames, and probably get a few more cutesy things to sit on the dressers but not bad for a start. It is always fun to look for little things to add to a room. I am also cruising right along on the afghanistan, which matches the red in the bedding to perfection!

Colby in his "safety" glasses, getting ready to hang some lights! Aren't we lucky to have a electrician in the family?

Kenzie's new bedding.....

If you saw how many pairs of "heels" my daughter has in her closet you would understand how funny and perfect this is for her! I don't know how she can wear shoes that high and go to work!

Her "bouquet" from Andy and Al's wedding. Totally goes with the black and white theme.

I am sure it won't take her long to fill these up!

Any of you that know my sister Jan knows how crafty and talented she is in soooo many ways! She made these letters for Kenz and put different black and white scrapbook paper on each one! So cute! If only Al and I were as talented at hanging them as Jan was at making them. Ever tried to hang anything on a wall straight, that requires TWO nails? Just sayin'!

Again another adorable gift from Aunt Jan! She never ceases to amaze me at her talent and generosity!

These are the 2 lamps that Andy and Alyson gave Kenz for her birthday! We put the flickering tea lights in them and they really add so much to her room.

Now, how do I get her to sleep in her room?
