Disney

Awhile ago Colby had to work on the Saturday where he had Tate for the weekend. He was working down at Rio Tinto Stadium and asked if I would bring Tate down to have lunch with him. I thought that really is a long way for just a quick bite to eat, so Kenz suggested we take Tate to see Disney on Ice. So on that day we went to meet Colby and went to Chipotle for lunch. Not my or Kenzie's favorite and Tate just kept asking when we were going to see the Monster Truck Show. Ha! After lunch we took Tate and went downtown to the Energy Solutions Arena for the show. We had just been there 2 weeks ago for the 2nd Monster Truck Show and Tate was sure he was going to see Gravedigger as soon as we got in the door. Nope, just a whole bunch of ice and a big curtain. He was confused, but went with it and sat on Kenzie's lap and played with the "candle" until the show was ready to start. Our seats were on the second row and we could almost touch the ice. I hoped once that the show started Tate would forget about monster trucks and love the skating. It was Toy Story and he loves to watch Buzz Lightyear with me. The show started and immediately Tate was hooked. We were so close that you could see everything and the characters would skate right over to where were sitting and Tate would wave at them and he clapped continuously throughout the show! He was mesmerized! The costumes were amazing, down to the littlest details, everything was perfection. It was an awesome Saturday afternoon with my favorite people! When the show was out we went back to Rio TInto and picked Colby up and he rode home with us. Since no one liked Chipotle at lunch, we stopped at In & Out and had burgers. Everyone liked that! There is picture overload, but then when Tate asks to see the pictures I just pull up the blog and he can see them all right there! Memories!

Kabuki

Here are a few pictures of our scrumptious dinner on Saturday night! I don't know who the girl is in the fire picture but she gets to be on the ol' blog today. Tate loved everything about the hibachi style of cooking. He was entertained the whole time! The server handed him chopsticks and he would not touch the fork again the rest of the night. He was picking up crackers, noodles and rice. At the end of cooking the meal the chef always has someone try to catch a piece of shrimp in their mouth as he flings it at you with a spatula. I had two AWESOME pics of Alyson and Colby trying to catch the shrimp, but they both "proofed" the pictures yesterday when they came over for lunch and both said "Don't put that on the blog!" So I am not. Just know that I caught the shrimp mid-air in both shots and they were trying really hard to catch the shrimp. Impressive! Jason was the only one that actually caught the shrimp! I had to include a picture of Colby's Angel Hair Roll. So yummy! It was a great night!

Laid Back Birthday

Colby had been on the road for work all week and we weren't sure he was going to be able to come home for his birthday. I found out yesterday while at work that he was not going to be staying in MT for 4 more days that he was making the drive home. When I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday he said "watch the UNC game with everyone at your house!" Perfect! Those are my favorite nights, maybe not watching games but having everyone over, the girls would have preferred Lifetime but it is March Madness and it was Colby's birthday. UNC gave us all a HUGE stomach ache when they almost lost it in the final seconds, but they were victorious in OT. Anyway, a wins a win! With little time to plan or cook after work, it was an early game, I thanked Papa Murphy's for providing dinner/dessert. My boss suggested we try the Thai Chicken Pizza and we loved it! I think it will be a new family favorite. I bought some cookie dough, ice cream and toppings and we made homemade pazookies! Quick and yummy family dinner! We will be going "out" tonight for his official birthday dinner, Kabuki is calling his name! Can't wait!
