Chalk one up for the weathermen in all the wrong ways. This is what is happening outside right now. This picture was not taken in February, January or even December. Yep, it was taken on APRIL 28th! At least we knew it was a coming based on the 50 MPH winds last night and the electricity flickering off and on. Today will be a good 40 degrees colder than yesterday (yesterday was 75)! Hey, weatherman let's see if in your weather maps or on the doppler radar you can find us a temperature swing ( or is it called a high pressure something or other) the other way now for let's say oh the next 5 months? Just putting it out there.We need a summer this year! Looking at this situation in a positive light, it's not the weekend!

Faves
These are 4 of my FAVORITE people ever! I love how much time we spend together, just hanging out, going out, watching movies, working in the yard, laughing, shopping, just being a family!! I love that Kenz and Alyson text me all day while they are at work and school! I treasure the relationships that I have with each of them. Colby, Andy and Kenz are the best kids a Mom could ever wish for! How did I get so lucky? Alyson is the best daughter in law. She just fits into our family like she was always meant to be there.She has shown me what a MIL/DIL relationship should and could be and she is an awesome "sister" to Kenzie and Colby! I count all of them as blessings every single day! Love You Guys!
YR 2009 Is Now YR 2010
Yard Renovation 2009 has now moved into Yard Renovation 2010. My own little landscape architect is already full of ideas and changes that will take place when the weather realizes the calendar says April and very soon to be May. Can Spring just stick around already? The Wednesday forecast...SNOW! Really? I mean REALLY?
Anyhow, a few Saturdays ago the boys were going to Maverik to get gas for the lawn mower and "found" these lovely treasures "by the side of the road". That's the story and we're sticking to it, so don't ask! The boulders, rocks, stones whatever you would like to call them, weigh a "ton" if you ask Colby and Andy, they just add the finishing touch to the front landscaping project.Only a few minor injuries occurred in the placement of said boulders.
My little landscape architect was just named Outstanding Sophomore, in the LAEP (landscape architecture environmental planning) Department for this year! Pretty sure this means that he will metriculate into his program.They only take 20% of the students after their sophomore year. He will know for sure if he is accepted into the program in June but I think the only Outstanding Sophomore wouldn't be denied, do you? He received his award at an awards dinner and ceremony at The Riverwoods! I couldnt' be more proud of my personal landscape architect. I love reaping the rewards of everything he is learning, even though he identifies every tree, shrub, flower and bush by their scientific name. We just look at him and laugh. When we were weeding YR2010 the other night he was even discussing the lack of "tap roots" in the weeds we were pulling! That's my boy!
Just a few pics of some of the tulips. I went out to take the pictures when the sun went down and I didn't know that they close up at night! Who knew? The colors are still gorgeous and totally make me smile when I pull into the driveway!

Construction
This was Andy and Al's house last Saturday! The construction is not progressing as quick as impatient Andy would like it too. This past week all the roof trusses should have been put up, we are going out to see if that was completed later today. The girls can't wait until it gets to the fun stages, like cabinets, painting and flooring.Within the next 8 weeks they will be moving in!
Chick Magnet
This is our little "chick magnet" last weekend after his Aunt Al & Kenz bathed him and styled his hair.
Look closely at his right hand in this photo. Can you see how fast he was pounding out the music on his little piano? He gets a going and makes quite the racket! Soo Cute!
I have always loved Tayten's profile, isn't he so handsome?
He also loves his Tigger nigh night (as Tereck would say), not sure what you call them at your house!

Over The Stormy Sea
These are just a few of my favorite images from Andy's time spent in the West Indies. I found this talk that Elder Bednar gave on missionary work and I love the part about watching friends enter the waters of baptism. Andy was fortunate to be a part of his new friends baptisms in the Caribbean Sea. I love when our phone rings and we can tell it is an international call from the Trinidad, and the sweet voice on the other end asks "Is Elder Croft home?". What an influence my son was in these peoples lives!
"Our full-time missionaries are having increasing success in all parts of the world in bringing souls into the waters of baptism.Our missionaries are trained to teach the gospel, to teach in an orderly, inspired manner, which hopefully leads to baptism. To a missionary, every hour is precious and must be productive. Do you realize missionaries baptize about one person for every 1,000 homes they tract? The Lord will bless your efforts. You will witness friends enter the waters of baptism.The lives you touch may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel." -Elder Bednar-
One of the hymns that was sung at Andy's mission farewell was "I'll go where you want me to go".
I love the words, and Andy was definately called to go to the "Sea" so the words to this song were so spot on. What an amazing mission Andy served. The West Indies people and Andy were very lucky to have each other.
I'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain or plain or sea;
I'll say what you want me to say, dear Lord;
I'll be what you want me to be.
It may not be on the mountain height
Or over the stormy sea,
It may not be at the battle's front
My Lord will have need of me.
But if, by a still, small voice he calls
To paths that I do not know,
I'll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in thine:
I'll go where you want me to go.

There's A New Blogger In Town...
My sweet daughter Kenzie has started her own blog. She used to tell me only "old ladies" blogged but a lot of her friends blog now. I told her how much fun it seriously is and we sat down one night and she hopped on board the Blogger train. You can check her out at astoldbykenzie.blogspot.com! Or she is listed on my sidebar as My Favorite Fruit! You are sure to hear and see stories of an almost 19 year olds perspective on cosmetology school, her "famous" family (Famous Footwear), Our Bug, and all other sorts of drama or non-drama that goes on in her life! Go check her out and show her some love!
One down and one to go... We gotta get Alyson blogging. I think as soon as USU graduation is over on May 8th she will join the fun!
