Au revoir, adieu, adios, arrivederci, auf wiedersehen, bye, bye-bye, cheerio, good-by, goodby, good-bye, goodbye, good day, sayonara, so long...But it must be said.
I am not a good patient. I have for many years not followed medical advice from a multitude of Dr.s, I have been told over and over and over "You must STOP drinking Diet Coke and other flavors of carbonated YUMMINESS. Your kidneys CANNOT handle it." Have I listened? A few times, once for about 9 months. Other than that, notsomuch. I think I just got a $12,000 wake up call from the 5 days I just spent in the hospital. (actual amount of bill for said visit is yet to be seen).
So I am NOW listening to medical advice. I am not getting any younger and I want my kidneys to keep working for awhile, make that a long while. It has been 13 days since I have had ANY Diet Coke. I have been drinking lots and lots of water. I don't mind water, but I crave Diet Coke. I think about it when I drive to work, remembering the detour to Chevron for the fresh cut lemons. When I walked into Shopko with Kenz on Monday and there were pallets of DC stacked right by the front door, taunting me.
The cravings will take some time, however there is this magic pill, I was introduced to in the hospital. A baby blue wonderful pill. On Sunday when I was in the middle of caffeine withdrawal, and had the headache from you know where, the nurses gave me Lortab, Percoset, Motrin, and Tylenol. None of which even touched the headache. My nurse Mindy, who is my Bishop's daughter said "There is this pill, let me call your Dr. and see if he will let you have it!" Thank goodness he did, because 20 minutes later the headache was gone. So every 4 hours I take the magic pill and NO caffeine withdrawal headache! Yeah! I'm gonna kick this "addiction" once and for all! Words of encouragement are appreciated! :)

So Happy....
That I live in one of the 48 states that observes Daylight Saving Time! Tomorrow morning at 2am we lose an hour and "spring" forward! It doesnt really feel like losing though when this summer I will be sitting on my front porch, watching the dogs running through the sprinklers with the smell of fresh cut grass in the air, and it is still light out at 9pm. Those are the days!
Yes, for the next week it may be a bit of adjustment, and when we feel like DST has kicked our butts, remembering the reward of the long summer nights, will get us through!

G.R.O.W.
Since the sun has been out more and the temps have made it into the 40's for a few days in a row, I am starting to feel like my old self again. The long. long, long valley winters can take a toll on a girl. I'm just sayin'. I have always loved quotes. I have folders of quotes that I have collected over the years and I love to just sit and read them from time to time. This is on my calendar at work for the month of March. Yes, another calendar quote. I can feel Spring just right around the corner and this quote makes me smile every day at work.
"Plant the seeds of your dreams and weed out all the objections."
Oh, and can we talk about the W word for a minute? Yes, weeds! They have already made an appearance, right next to the tulips.
Welcome Spring!

All Wrapped Up!?!
For Easter! On Tuesday I was going through all our Easter decor and Tayten grabbed these lighted Easter eggs and loved them. He sat on Colby's lap and just held them and looked at them for a really long time. I love the picture with his eyes shut. That's the new "face" he gives me when he see the camera. Always the big yummy smile but now he shuts his eyes and giggles. How did we live life before this sweet boy?

Refresh Your Spirit...
This is a wonderful quote from Leigh Standley. I happened to have purchased her 2010 calendar and it hangs next to my computer. I read this every day.So far each month the quotes along with the graphics are unbelievable. I want to skip ahead and look at them all, but it is kind of like a little gift I get to open on the first day of each new month. January and February are actually worth sharing as well. I will post them sometime this month before opening my April Fool's Day gift.

These 3 Little Cuties....
It Begins With Me...
Each week at work I spotlight one of our many wonderful employees on the front page of our intranet. The employee writes a bio about themselves and includes pictures of their families, hobbies, pets etc. Last week I featured our brand new, really smart and funny office manager from the American Fork store, his name is Jordan. In his bio he listed his favorite motto and it really stood out to me, and I have thought about it a lot this week, so I thought I would share. It is so simple but so true.
"Be kind to those who aren’t….they need it the most."

At Our House....
We don't care so much about the Academy Awards, we like the movies we like and don't really go by the reviews a certain movie gets. However, this year we did want to see Sandra Bullock win her first Oscar for The Blind Side, and SHE WON!
Sandra looked gorgeous and I loved her acceptance speech, all night long she looked like she was going to yammie (you'll have to ask my nieces husband Sven for the definition); she was so nervous. She is so sincere yet so funny at the same time. What a couple her and husband Jesse James make. Don't they say opposites attract? When this comes out on DVD it will for sure be a new addition to our movie collection.
We also wanted Avatar to win best picture. We did see The Hurt Locker, and we did like it but it was harder to watch (you know what I mean if you have seen it),it is different than Avatar, we can see how it won the Oscar though. Avatar will also join our movie collection, where as we saw The Hurt Locker once, and for us that is enough.
