A Trip To Instacare

Last night I took Kenz to Instacare. She has just been so tired, not sleeping and generally just feeling bleh. We couldnt have timed it better had we tried. No cars in the parking lot, no patients waiting in the waiting room, it was empty and free from all strange germs we were trying to avoid. Since Kenz is now 18, they asked her to sign the papers, and asked her if she would want arbitration over court, and all those "adult" questions. When she was done signing her forms she said "I hate being 18".

We had a very brief wait before they called her name and we were taken back to a room to proceed to wait for a Dr. When the Dr. came in he introduced himself as Dr. Carlsen and I asked him if he was the Dr. Carlsen with the office in the same building as the Instacare and he said yes, he is and that he was filling in for one of the Instacare doctors that had a Christmas party to attend. I then told him that he was my grandson's pediatrician and I told him about Tayten, the cutest boy in the world! He agreed and asked if we were getting to see him enough and asked how old Tayten was now! I said no matter how much we see him it could never be enough. He said how important it is for Tayten to see his Daddy and that time spent with both parents makes for a healthy happy kid. Dr. Carlsen and I chatted about our Bug and his Daddy for a few minutes. He really is a nice guy! He then ordered up blood tests for Kenz to check for mono and anemia and see if anything else was out of wack.

Blood work all came back normal and so Dr. Carlsen prescribed a cough medicine so she could get some sleep, (and she did, thanks codeine). He said to keep her out of school the rest of this week and she should be her little old self quickly!

As we were leaving he told us to " Give that baby lots of love" and you know we will, always and forever!
